Dawn Raids

The Dawn Raids of the 70’s have been labelled as one of the most blatantly racist attacks on Pacific people by the New Zealand Government from one of the members of the Polynesian Panthers Associate Professor Misatauveve Melani Anae. There are many accounts of what occurred over the years of Dawn Raids and many personal accounts from Pacific people who were affected by the policies and processes during that time and beyond.

Tabu Tok believe that we have nothing to add to the talanoa about the Dawn Raids that would add value at this point and so this week we share links of stories, news articles and videos that we believe speak to the topic and give broad context not only to the Dawn Raids themselves but also the formal apology from the Government of New Zealand in 2021.
